15 Sep 2022: Inter Hotel/City Transfer from Munnar to Thekkady
Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel & drive to Thekkady.
Thekkady is a town near Periyar National Park, is a true paradise for wildlife and nature lovers. The named Thekkady is derived from the word "thekku" which means teak. The city is blessed with dense green forests, semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savanna grasslands.
If time permits, you will visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - one of the popular national parks in India and famous as an elephant and tiger reserve. It is home to around 35 species of mammals like tiger, Indian elephant, gaur, sambar, wild pig, Indian giant squirrel, jungle cat, etc. (Optional - Boat ride on Periyar Lake)
You can also witness the organic spice plantations tour offers a hands-on experience with an interactive tour that explains the cultivation and processing of various spices. Featuring a myriad of species of banana, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, vanilla, ginger, turmeric, and other old spices, the place is truly a delight for botany enthusiasts and nature lovers.
